Best Buy’s one-day-only iPhone trade-in event earlier this month was so successful that the retailer is doing it again — this time for nine days.
Beginning today, Best Buy is once again offering a $150 trade-in credit for any working iPhone 4 or 4S, enough to cover the cost of a new 16 gigabyte iPhone 5 — after a $50 instant rebate.
Customers hoping to avail themselves of the promotion must be eligible for an upgrade, willing to agree to a standard two-year wireless contract with Verizon, AT&T, or Sprint, and ready to foot the bill for any applicable sales tax and carrier activation fees. But otherwise, the deal gets them a “free” iPhone 5.
Best Buy’s rationale for rebooting the promotion? The retailer tells USA Today that the one-day only iPhone trade-in event it held on June 1 was its biggest day ever for its used electronics trade-in program.
Best Buy’s iPhone deal, which is available in-store only, will run through June 29.
